Call for Entries
2008 Rules & Fees
All entries must be postmarked by May 1, 2008.
RULES
We welcome your entry into MediMedia's International Health & Medical Media Awards
(IHMMA). There are two basic requirements. Your entry must:
- Deal with health or medical issues
- Have been released after January 1, 2006
There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit, but each entry must
include a separate form and entry fee unless it is being submitted as a series.
A series consists of two or more videos/CDROMs/DVDs submitted to be judged as a set.
You may submit the same audiovisual entry in more than one category; however, each
must include a separate video/CDROM/DVD, form and entry fee for each category. Audio
programming may only be entered in the Audio Programming category. You may submit
payment for multiple entries in a single check.
An entry must not have been a FREDDIE winner—that is, a category winner—at a previous
IHMMA ceremony.
ENTRY FORMATS
Any entry submitted on 1/2-inch VHS videocassette or DVD must be NTSC standard,
playable in Region 1, the United States and Canada.
Please remove any anticopying messages, TV station IDs, countdowns and intervals
over ten seconds from the program content. IHMMA reserves the right to reject any
entries that violate the preceding sentence.
You may submit interactive entries, or entries designed for other media such as
CD-ROM, in any category. CD-ROM entries should be set up with auto start to
facilitate the judging process. Submit CD-ROM entries in a cross-platform format or
in both Mac and PC formats for judging. Entries in languages other than English are
acceptable, if they are subtitled in English.
Audio programs should be submitted on a playable audio CD.
HANDLING
Send all entry material together (form, fee, video, DVD, CD or CD-ROM, and
literature). Identify all materials with entrant’s name. IHMMA uses reasonable
efforts to guard against loss or damage to entries in our possession but will
assume no liability for any such loss or damage. MediMedia will assume no
responsibility for entries, delivery, receipts or con dition of entries. Entrants
will need to prepay all clearance charges and forward ing fees and arrange for
local delivery.
CATEGORY
On your entry form, please indicate the category in which you wish to enter. Identify
whether your primary target audience is consumer or professional. This information
will determine eligibility for our top awards.
JUDGING
Our judges evaluate entries for their content, educational value, originality and
production quality. Our judges screen each entry to determine whether it merits
further judging as a category finalist. We will notify finalists no later than
September 30, 2008. Only finalists and winners will receive notification. We will
notify the contact person listed under Entrant Information. Category finalists are
eligible to become FREDDIE winners in the next round of judging. All category winners
will receive a FREDDIE award.
